About MARTS
Founded in 1952, the Malaysian Amateur Radio Transmitters’ Society (MARTS) is the national organization representing amateur radio operators throughout Malaysia.
As the sole Malaysian member society of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) Region 3, MARTS plays a crucial role in promoting amateur radio, providing technical support, and advocating for the interests of Malaysian radio amateurs at both national and international levels.

Amateur Radio Licensing in Malaysia
Three license classes administered by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC)
License Classes
Class C (Entry Level)
• Minimum age: 12 years
• Power: 25W max
• Bands: VHF/UHF only
• Exam: 35 questions (1 hour)
Class B (Standard)
• Minimum age: 14 years
• Power: 50W max
• Bands: VHF/UHF + selected HF
• Exam: 50 questions (1.5 hours)
Class A (Advanced)
• Minimum age: 15 years
• Power: 1000W PEP max
• Bands: All amateur bands
• Exam: 50 questions (1.5 hours)
Application Process
Register for RAE Exam
Create account on MCMC SEMS portal and schedule your exam
Pass the Examination
Computer-based test at designated MCMC centers
Apply for License
Submit Apparatus Assignment (AA) application via e-SPECTRA
Receive Your Callsign
Get your official Malaysian callsign (e.g., 9M2XYZ)
