Operating Requirements
The Amateur Radio Service operates globally on standardized frequencies. In Malaysia, to operate an amateur radio station, the operator must possess one of the following:
- An Amateur Radio Operatorβs Certificate and an Amateur Station Apparatus Assignment (ASAA) issued by MCMC.
- A valid foreign amateur radio license from a country with a reciprocal arrangement with Malaysia.

π Foreign Amateur Radio Licensees Application
Foreign radio operators seeking temporary operational privileges in Malaysia must submit the following documents to **MARTS** (Malaysian Amateur Radio Transmitters’ Society):
- Download and fill up the application form: DOWNLOAD FORM
- A photocopy of your **current amateur radio operator certificate**.
- A photocopy of the **photograph page of your passport**.
- A photocopy of the **photograph page of your Visa** (if applicable).
- A photocopy of the **Malaysian working permit** (if applicable).
- A **letter of support** from your amateur radio society (must be a member of the **IARU** – International Amateur Radio Union).
